Hi I am Ranjini aka DesignJini. I am an inter disciplinary creative practitioner. Born and raised in Kolkata, India, I come from an educated Bengali family and I identify as a woman.
As a freelance Design Consultant, I bring a wealth of experience in various communication aspects. My work spans across graphic design, animation, social media design, advertising, brand design, publication design, visual arts, and video production, demonstrating my versatility and adaptability in the field.

My Story

I started my professional career in advertising as a junior visualiser with Lowe Worldwide in Kolkata, India. I then went on to become a senior art director at Cheil Communications (Samsung’s advertising agency) in New Delhi. During this time, a wonderful opportunity presented itself when I was awarded the prestigious International Inlaks Art Award in 2007. This full merit-based scholarship enabled me to do a master’s in graphic design from Florence Design Academy, Florence, Italy. My education and travels helped me to develop a global outlook and connect with an international design community.
My professional life as an artist and designer has spanned over 18 years. It includes working with various clients such as museums, non-governmental organisations, advertising agencies, design studios, production houses, and inspiring individuals nationally and internationally.
My design and art practice explore the themes of nostalgia, memory, feminism, child rights, and societal perspectives of inclusion, diversity, environmental, and human values. In my work, I use diverse media to play with colour, graphics, composition and textures to think visually and communicate impactful ideas.
